Marico AOKI

Marico Aoki was born in Saitama Prefecture, Japan in 1985 and currently based in Tokyo, Japan. Aoki obtained an MFA from Tokyo Zokei University. Focusing on the relationship between nature and humanity, as well as the philosophies, beliefs, and rituals of various cultures, I create a world in which the stories of others’ souls and the stories of diverse worlds are layered together through video, drawing, photography, and installation. I explore how to simultaneously visualize multiple adjacent yet distinct narratives.
